White Christmas

Here in Scotland it's going to be a decidedly grey Christmas. For a brief period yesterday afternoon, there was a spot of pale blue in the sky. Alas, it didn't last long - the ceiling of 150 meter high cloud is back to stay.

Wherever you are this holiday season, spare a thought for a team of young MBAs, including Richard Smith (T'11), who are currently walking from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole. Richard is currently employed by Bain in Boston, where his out of office automatic reply reads: "I will be out of the office until February with no access to emails. I will respond when I return." - a great demonstration of British understatement.
The leader of the expedition is a Berkeley/Haas MBA who has a degenerative eye disease and is technically blind. He has a GPS system that speaks to him because his eyes can't reliably read it. They are raising money for blindness charities. You can read about their heroic journey here.

Wherever you are (hopefully, somewhere warmer than Antarctica and sunnier than Scotland) Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
