Well. Call it love at first sight. We didn't hesitate to get a family membership, knowing instantly we would be spending many, many days here (especially as the days turn cooler...).
The Montshire is, in their own words, "a hands-on museum located in Norwich, Vermont*, with more than 125 exhibits relating to the natural and physical sciences, ecology, and technology. The building is located on a 110-acre site near the Connecticut River, and the Museum's outdoor environment is a large part of the visitor experience." It is an incredibly place for children of all ages (and, ahem, us grown-ups too) to explore, play, and learn. The outdoor park is incredible as well- they have a large water play area that's awesome in the summer, and a whole network of hiking trails that we haven't even gotten around to checking out yet. The museum also hosts all sorts of special programs and field trips for children & families, adults, school groups, and teachers.
So, while Zach is busy with classes and studying, the kids and I will be hanging out at the Montshire playing with dry ice and making rockets out of paper and straws. I think he's a bit jealous. ; )
*I know my New England geography wasn't so great before we moved here, but just FYI Norwich, VT and the museum are literally right down the street from the Tuck campus.

Thanks for this informative post!
